Jeffrey K. Zeig, Ph.D. is the Founder and Director of Milton H. Erickson Foundation.

“Dr. Jeffrey K. Zeig is a master therapist and a master teacher. That is a rare combination. He teaches with a deep enjoyment of what he is doing, a clear sense of contact with the people he works with, and a touch of the poet. For his students, this creates an experience of expansion and pleasure as they learn.” --Salvador Minuchin , MD

Making a Real Difference

Brandon BaysThe "Making a Real Difference" project was originally inspired by a group of friends, who all recently had the pleasure of experiencing the deep sense of truth and beauty that the Journeywork (pioneered by Brandon Bays) offers. With the exception of Laurie Collins (The Journey Australasia) who spearheaded the project, the rest of us had no idea this stuff was out there!

Charter of Compassion

Karen ArmstrongAs she accepts her 2008 TED Prize, author and scholar Karen Armstrong talks about how the Abrahamic religions -- Islam, Judaism, Christianity -- have been diverted from the moral purpose they share to foster compassion. But Armstrong has seen a yearning to change this fact. People want to be religious, she says; we should act to help make religion a force for harmony. She asks the TED community to help her build a Charter for Compassion -- to help restore the Golden Rule as the central global religious doctrine.

Is Tibet Entitled to Self- Determination?
This article was commissioned by Hong Kong Lawyer, the official journal of the Hong Kong Law Society as the main story for its May edition. After the journal had approved publication, an extraordinary meeting of the board was called, which reversed its earlier decision, and decided not to publish the article, or any article on Tibet by Paul Harris, as being too politically sensitive.

The Colour Orange

The Colour OrangeThe Color Orange movement highlights the violations of the human rights in China on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Beijing August 2008.

The idea is both sophisticated and simple: We want to introduce The Color Orange as a symbol of the protest against the human rights violations in China. The strict censorship can ban the use of obvious symbols of human rights, but the use of The Color Orange cannot be banned.

So we will encourage sports people and spectators to make vast and creative use of the color for clothing and all sorts of accessories. It can be anything, like an orange hat, camera bag, tie, pen, paper, dress, suit, bag etc. Even pealing an orange will be considered a poignant statement.

Father Joe Pereira: The Christian Yogi of Bombay

Father Joe Pereira is returning to Hong Kong in July.

Holistic HK is re-running an interview with this fascinating priest we ran in 2002.

When I asked Father Joe how the Church had reacted to his yoga practice he recalled a story; "My vicar-general was very concerned about my yoga. One day he had to go to a doctor for surgery to remove his varicose veins. The doctor told him, 'If you go to this priest I know who teaches yoga you won’t need surgery for this.'

It's called Million Meditators. The website actually lets you see who is meditating at any particular time. Eventually you will be able to see which people (unidentified) in which countries are meditating.
