..as I was to discover on my first trip to Egypt at the end of 2003.
In fact, I decided to go to Egypt as an 'escape' from deep heartache, discombobulation and other lack of understanding of what was happening in my life that had seemed so well organized and quite satisfactory! Little did I know that the energies in Egypt were to be a huge catalyst and the beginning of a path not envisaged before!
The first day I was in Cairo, waiting for the other participants to arrive, I took my first trip to Giza to view the pyramids, and that is where I started to perceive that this land was different from anywhere I had been before, although I had encountered similar energies in Peru some years earlier. So what was this that made my heart race, tears flow for no apparent reason, my emotions go wild? That night, in my room bordering the Nile, I reflected and meditated on this, as I would many times again as the trip progressed. It was indeed a meeting of vibrations, compatible vibrations, a recognition of an old association that had been long forgotten and yet ever so present in my whole being. It was a frequency that I reconnected to so effectively that by the time I reached Abu Simbel, the magnificent temple of Ramses II and of his most beloved wife Nefertari in the very South of Egypt, I was given messages so clearly, it was as though I had an in-built telephone line to the non-visible world. It was so strong that, when I put my hand on the wall of the temple to Nefertari, I began to channel. Well, that was a bit of a shock to the pragmatic businesswoman that I still was at the time!
And with every trip I have taken to Egypt, my sensitivity to the vibrations has become more subtle and refined. Yes, the temples are magnificent ruins, testimonies to times of a highly advanced civilization, some with exquisite carvings, high reliefs, bas reliefs, perhaps even a touch of colour left, and also testimonies to a priesthood that became increasingly corrupt and corrupted the original knowing, teachings and thus energies. So one also becomes more discerning about what one senses, a powerful education indeed. In fact, these energies are not always supportive, where there is sun, there is shade, and I have been blessed to be able to experience the 'shade' last year and to become acutely aware of how important it is to make one’s choice and be 100 % committed to it. I chose the light, and decided to stop 'flirting' with anything that is not light, not in integrity with my beliefs and my own vibration.
I have now also learnt to understand this 'energy' thing better, to be able to use it to support other people’s transformation and to channel some of it for people to gain clarity of purpose and of being. But whatever one goes to Egypt for, be it pure tourism or personal and/or spiritual growth, one thing is for certain, one cannot come back unchanged. I have seen people who I have taken there, visiting as part of a cultural group, captains of industry, 'melt' and become aware of things not dreamed of, even the drivers have asked me what do I do to people that they look so different when they take them back to the airport. It is not my doing, it is the energies of Egypt, the tenderness, the strength, the beauty, the wisdom we all intuitively feel when we spend time there, and this can be magnified if one goes with an intention to change, grow, connect to one’s gifts all the while being gently supported by a sensitive facilitator and tour leader.
The first trip in 2003 gave me back my life, not the one I had before going there, one that has evolved since and has become magical! It was a matter of daring to change and embracing the unexpected! The first 2 trips to Egypt led me to eventually conduct my own trips, adding into them what I felt was missing, such as grounding exercises (Nei Gong) and giving participants many supportive presents that have been imbued with a loving and protective energy to make the journey one of ease, joy and fun!
