The GLOBE Programme is an international environmental education project, that encourages children in schools to explore and measure their local areas, and report their i ndings over the internet. The programme covers several distinct areas: Weather and Climate, Hydrology, Land Cover and Biology, Soils, and Sustainable Development. The results from all schools are kept online and are available for pupils to use in a wide range of projects or activities. The aim is to enhance environmental awareness and understanding worldwide and provide practical opportunities for pupils to increase skills in science, geography, citizenship, mathematics and IT.
