Brought up in Bombay, Leo has been gifted with the ability to see energy and he spent his early years exploring his spirituality. After completing his degree in Psychology, his interest in the unconscious mind led him to Dream Analysis and a Master Practitioner certificate in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). He mastered many meditations under the guidance of various gurus at Rishikesh in Northern India and simultaneously explored healing techniques like Pranic Healing and Dynamic Healing. Leo then devised a powerful new technique, which he has used effectively on people diagnosed with cancer, HIV, depression and other illnesses.
Q: I was wondering if you know if anyone is doing holotropic breathwork in Hong Kong who you might be able to link me up with?
I am also trying to arrange for a breathworkshop here in Hong Kong and I wondered if you knew a good and not overly expensive venue for that kind of event - somewhere where the accommodation would not be too expensive(it will probably be for four or five days and have a large room where people can scream) .
Finally I have had no experience in bringing in people to run workshops in Hong Kong - do you know if there are taxation or visa issues?
Wayne
A: Hi Wayne
Anne Harrison a former HK resident used to come back and teach breathwork. She is writing a PhD on it, I believe in Australia. I can't recall the modality exactly whether its based on Stan Grof's work or others.
The Hoffman process used to book the Silvermine Bay Hotel for a5 day week day workshops and I believe there was a lot of screaming involved in that course. The other locations you could explore would be Kadoorie farm, but I am not sure about the screaming.
My understanding, and I have to say this isn't a legally binding opinion, is that it's OK to bring in people for workshops and pay them without taxation or a work visa, it's probably under the category of a tolerated grey area rather than being legally valid.
