Holistic HK is a resource and platform for news, info, events, inspiration and comments of Hong Kong 's growing holistic community.

The reception the e-magazine has received has been very positive. In April 2003 HK Mag described it as "excellent and comprehensive". Current mailing is to 2,200. Recent month's readership have totaled 12,000 visitors. These people are the target group of the holistic world of HK, active in, motivated and educated in green, health and spiritual issues. Every first of the month the magazine is renewed with new features and content and updated on the middle of the month. Every issue is archived and thus always available. Increasingly Holistic HK is used by other media, especially listings columns for papers for advertising your events. Holistic HK is also campaigning for a better HK with regular columns on topics such as globalization and ecological restoration. We welcome your contribution.

A Simple Introduction to the Ads Available

Listings
Services Directory - $50 for 25 words, $1 per word thereafter
Classifieds/HK Visitors - $100 per 100 words. $1 per word thereafter
Events - $200 for 1 event, $300 for 3 events, $500 for 5 and $1000 for 10. These can include HK Visitors and Classifieds too.

Banners
$1000 for small and $2000 for large

Email outs
$3000 to our mailing list of 2200 people.

Ad Rates in Greater Details
20 September 2003: The Upcoming Events column is now translated into Chinese. There are also Chinese articles for every issue. (Please send in your Chinese version if available).

All ads
Six (6) months receives a 10% discount. Twelve (12) months a 20% discount.

Service Directory ads
$50 for 25 words ($1 a word thereafter) with a minimum of 3 issues. For 6 issues there is a 10% discount and for 12 issues a 20% discount. This will be the comprehensive directory for holistic services and centres in HK. This is a significant reduction in rates of over 50%.

Upcoming Events
New! $200 (for 100 words thereafter $1 a word). The Upcoming Events is listed at the top of the front page is the most popularly read part of Holistic HK.

Classifieds
For non-date specific announcements. $100 for 100 words and thereafter $1 a word. Good for promoting products.

HK Visitors
$100 for 100 words and thereafter $1 a word. Please send a photo (low res please) as well.

Alliances with Holistic HK
I am looking for like-minded friends and centres. The motivation for this is to have an independent magazine for Hong Kong sponsored by various centres rather than being dependent on one big sponsor. As a former editor of New Age News, it was gratifying that the first Alliance advertiser was the New Age Shop.

Alliance A
You receive a total of 5 Upcoming Events and/or Classifieds.
In addition you receive 5 service directory listings.
A link in the Links/Sponsors section.
$500 a month

Alliance B
In addition to Alliance A you will also have a chance to place an articles or Banner ad on a monthly basis (with the proviso that it needs to be an independent piece not an advertorial).
$1,000 a month.

Alliance C
A new addition to meet the needs of the independent practitioner who needs more than simply a HK Resource Ad. For $300 x 3 months you receive 3 Service Directory Ads, 3 Upcoming Events or Classified Ads each month (i.e. this package runs for a minimum of 3 months, making it $900 for a 3 month block). This is very suited to the individual practitioner or small business. Minimum of 3 issues.

Please send all ads in the format of 100 words for the amount of entries you have paid for (i.e. 5 for Alliance A etc.) including your contact details in the wording.

New! Holistic Asia
As of November 1 there is a new column called Holistic Asia where you can promote your events outside of Hong Kong . We are actively looking to promote events and features on the region. Given how Hong Kongers travel all over Asia this is a growing market. Rates are the same as for HK events.

Banners/Logos
Mid-April (2005) update. A display ad in a box on the front page. Image to be sent by advertiser. There are two options here: small and large, the sizes of which are not to exceed 180x220 (width x height, in pixels) and 360x220, respectively. File size details: small - about 25KB. Large banner: about 50KB. Cost: Small - $1,000, large - $2,000. The format of the finals: Either .jpg or .gif.

New! Banners on the bottom of the page: This will be on the bottom of the page, below the content. Sizes and details as above: Large 360x220, $1000. Small: 180x220 $500.

Above file sizes and prices apply to 'static' images. For animated images, add to above file sizes and prices 50%. Please note that we may ask advertisers to change their display ad (static or animated) if it is too “busy” or if it conflicts with our existing design. Our policies on animated images are w.i.p. and may change soon. Please watch this space.

One-off Email-outs
A one off ad contacting 2,200+ people. $3,000. Email-out can include images and formatted text and can look as rich as a webpage. Please contact the editor for more details.

Cut Off Dates
Please send events in the third week of the month or earlier if possible. For the mid month update please send events in by 11 of the month.

Further Publicity
Holistic HK is used by other magazines and media so your advert goes further than the readership of the e-magazine. Holistic Living is a column written by HolisticHK editor every week in the South China Morning Post. It is drawn from the e-magazine, but no guarantees can be given that ads will appear in the paper.
