IMT Advanced Course- Manual Solutions for Immune Compromise
These 3 days advanced Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) lab course is part of
a series called IMT for Biologic Medicine. Manual therapists (MD, DO, ND,
DC, PT, OT, L.Ac, MT, IMT, other) typically treat dysfunction to reduce pain
and improve function. This series of manual therapy seminars, called IMT for
Biologic Medicine, is a new era for manual medicine: techniques to affect
the tissues contributing to disease. The content of this course can be
utilized to: reduce immune deficiency, increase immune competency, and
decrease local, regional and systemic infection and inflammation.
Discussions regarding immunology will provide the student with critical
thinking and clinical reasoning, in order to begin to develop an expertise
in this field. A multidisciplinary approach is best for treatment of
infectious and/or inflammatory conditions.
Key note speakers are Dr. Sharon W. Giammatteo Ph.D, P.T., I.M.T.,C and Dr.
Thomas Giammatteo D.C., N.D., P.T., I.M.T.,C. IMT was developed by Dr.
Sharon (Weiselfish) Giammatteo, over the past 30 years. She is President of
CenterIMT, Center of Integrative Manual Therapy and Diagnostics, including
Regional Physical Therapy in Connecticut. Dr. Sharon W. Giammatteo graduated
from Wingate Institute of Physiotherapy in Israel; received an undergraduate
degree in Advanced Health Sciences and Medicine, a graduate degree in
Clinical Neurosciences and her Doctoral Degree investigating manual and
cranial therapies for the neurologic client.
Dr. Giammatteo is Director of Operations for CenterIMT, Center of
Integrative Manual Therapy and Diagnostics, including Regional Physical
Therapy in Connecticut. He is Vice President of DCR, Dialogues in
Contemporary Rehabilitation, the learning, resource and research center for
IMT in Connecticut. He holds undergraduate degrees in both Physical Therapy
and Human Biology. He received his Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine from
the National College of Chiropractic and earned a Certificate of Meridian
Therapy and Acupuncture.

Pre-Requisition: Any 3 IMT courses plus the learning of recovery motilties
for the treatment of IDM (immune deficiency motility) and DOM's (disruptions
of membrane). Experience with template therapy will be helpful, but is not
necessary.
