– Beginners Level 1
with Hari Om

20-30 September (Evenings and weekends)

Hong Kong – Tsim Sha Tsui

This dance immersion programme is a wonderful chance for beginners to thoroughly understand the
origin of dance and various aspects of Kuchipudi dance (including the subtle nuances of expression). It will be a detailed study of all the basic steps with an emphasis on posture, footwork, handwork, eye movement, co-ordination and expression.

The programme also allows students to perfect their basic steps, which are the building blocks for any form of classical dance. Indian classical dance is also a great and fun workout for the whole body and toning of the limbs!

What to expect:

- In-depth study and practice of basic steps (adavulu) along with notations (jati)
- Brief introduction of origin of Indian dance, especially Kuchipudi
- Introduction to 4 types of expressions (chaturvidhaabhinaya) and 9 emotions (navarasa)
- Study of hand gestures (hasta mudra)
- Study of food variations (pada bheda)

Open to all levels - Advanced students will be given variations in the class.
KIDS ARE ALSO WELCOMED!
